Newcastle Private Hospital were delighted to take custody early in 2016 of a $20,000 portable Digital Ultrasonic Linear Probe which was donated by local charity ‘Supporters of Cancer’ (SOC) in memory of their late foundation member and friend Sharon Considine.

Newcastle Private Hospital were delighted to take custody early in 2016 of a $20,000 portable Digital Ultrasonic Linear Probe which was donated by local charity ‘Supporters of Cancer’ (SOC) in memory of their late foundation member and friend Sharon Considine.

Director of Nursing Barbara Durrant and Nursing Unit Manager Oncology Jennie Fernie reported the new ultrasound equipment the unit had already proved very popular with staff and patients. The probe provides nursing staff with an accurate diagnostic image of veins, which significantly improves the treatment for patients undergoing multiple painful injections.
