Achievements

SOC for over 4 years have sponsored an Annual Patient Support Day in Newcastle to bring cancer patients from the Hunter Valley together for a care day. SOC liaise with the Gynaecological Oncology Unit at John Hunter Hospital where the wonderful nurses coordinate a day directed to providing information and support and generally some TLC to these women who have had cancer in the last twelve months. The SOC Golf Committee were very happy to donate $10,000 raised from their 2013 Charity Golf Day followed by a second donation of $20,000 from the 2014 Golf day to the Calvary Mater Physiotherapy Department which provide financial support to patients for the ongoing purchase of pressure bandages. Newcastle Private Hospital were delighted to take custody early in 2016 of a $20,000 portable Digital Ultrasonic Linear Probe which was donated by local charity ‘Supporters of Cancer’ (SOC) in memory of their late foundation member and friend Sharon Considine. Ultrasonic Linear Probe - 5th May 2017
